We really did have a great time.
Driving the Salmon River Scenic Byway to get there...

Hiking in...

Pitching the tent...

Enjoying the view...

And trying to climb...

But the weather foiled our hopes of reaching the summit in the end...

Apollo didn't care. He was all about the lakes...

And sleeping in the tent...

And I managed to snatch a moment on the world's most scenic yoga mat in between the rain...
(looking forward)

(looking behind)

So.... No Complaints on the weather!

Date: 2009-07-07 10:40 am (UTC)Apollo just looks like he's waiting for BW to miss his footing so he has an excuse to jump in and save him. *g* And it looks cold, that water.
There's something about the composition of the tent and tree. Whether it's the angle, the interplay of light and colour or all of the above I don't know but I like it muchly. T'is artistic. : ) As is the one following.
Do I presume that vertical patch of yellow on the rock is a marker for a crack or whatever-you-put-in-them? (I want to say 'cam' but I don't think it's right and I can't come up with anything else) Or is it lichen? On second thought, I think it is. I can't imagine marking the rock would be allowed. I like the colours of the granite. Reminds me of Jersey but you knew that was coming, didn't you. Sorry.
Wow--I can tell by the yellowish cast of light in that very atmospheric image looking to the summit that the weather had its Moments.
*Grins* at Apollo. I bet he loved all that water. How many times did he jump in? lol
That is indeed a truly scenic place for yoga.
I'm sorry you didn't get to climb more but just being out there looks like quite the thing to revive and inspire the spirit.
